We’ve made it to the Top! Or is it the Tip? Or the tip of the Top or the top of the Tip???
Anyway, it was certainly challenging. We’ve discovered beautiful places but God, you have to earn it! The books didn’t lie, it certainly was tough and rough going. Corrugation, countless dips, pot holes, river crossings, narrow tracks,… We chose alternative roads on some occasion as we were not daring enough to handle some extreme track conditions (Pascoe and Wenlock crossing on the Frenchmans Gap Road, Gunshot and Nolan on the Old Tele Track to name a few) but we did well on some other fairly deep crossing and narrow broken road surfaces. Driving skills are improving. Armande’s nerves still have to settle so she can hold the camera or the steering wheel during scary bits!
No need for further mechanical repairs this time and still excited about pursuing our adventure.
Hey, I’ve got a few words I’d like to say regarding the state of the road. Bamaga Rd
