7• Nitmiluk – Kununurra

Amongsts others, we’ve done two iconics sites during this leg of our trip: Nitmiluk (Katherine Gorge) NT, and Purnululu (Bungle Bungle) WA. Exceptionnaly beautiful but already extremely hot at this time of the year, leading to very early rises to be able to do the numerous walks with minimal exhaustion.

Katherine had the benefit to offer a variety of refreshing waterholes and falls as we could only rely on a bucket of lukewarm water back to camp to cool us down at the Bungle Bungles.

With all the walks we have done lately, we’d like to think there is some improvement in our fitness level! That allows us to feal no guilt with each icecream we jump at whenever we get to a camping ground’s shop, and with our ongoing “gastronomic” bushtucker…

    1. Haha, these cane tods! We saw a few dead (and dry) ones along the way that day. Some walkers must have had a good time putting them together this way, re-enacting some kind of scene I guess!?

Salutation de Hyeres, wo wir ein paar wunderschöne Tage verbracht haben und wenn eure Fotos vieeeeel spannender aussehen als unsere, liegt das sicher nur am Fotograf !

  4. The photos are just getting more amazing! I see you missed Mataranka and Daly Waters… but then again… you can’t see it all! Wondering if you are taking any impromptu detours or staying on track as planned? Are you travelling with enough wine? 🤪🤪

Let us know how you went with your car? Was it able to get fixed or have you had to make an unexpected longer stop?
