Second part of our trip on the West Coast towards Perth.
After the N orthern point of mainland Australia (Cape York, in July), we reached Steep Point, the Westernmost one. We doubted our abilities in reaching that point considering all the warnings and the very thoughtful advises such as “you should be right, mate”. Although challenging at times we managed quite well. We must have gained some 4wdriving experience since we left Brisbane some 18’000ks away…
We wanted to see more of the Western Australia’s famous wildflowers but unfortunately were a bit too late in season. Still, we enjoyed a few late patches ranging from pink to blue, white, purple, yellow and orange. Quite beautiful!
The return to “civilisation” closing up on Perth was quite contrasting and a big choc to the system.
