As we farewell Marg and Phil, we had to spend a bit more time around Broome, waiting for some spare parts to fix our camper-trailer cover zip which has been playing up for some time before heading down the coast towards Perth, including some inland excursions.
Distances being so great as you know (Broome – Perth normally 2217km, we actually did 5612km !) and Jean-Philippe a very keen and enthusiastic photographer, we decided to split this chapter in two.
Once again we did a fair bit of walking through rugged but magnificant gorges as well as strolling along the Indian Ocean coast with its pristine water and beautiful beaches. To top it up, we had the chance to see quite a few of whales (in a distance) travelling south as well.
After struggling with extreme heat for some time we were pleased to return to more comfortable temperatures once we reached Exmouth.

A section of the 200km unsealed road from Broome to Cape Leveque. Looks easy from up here but it was a pain to drive on as it was mostly severely corrugated.
