We’ve made it to the Top! Or is it the Tip? Or the tip of the Top or the top of the Tip???
Anyway, it was certainly challenging. We’ve discovered beautiful places but God, you have to earn it! The books didn’t lie, it certainly was tough and rough going. Corrugation, countless dips, pot holes, river crossings, narrow tracks,… We chose alternative roads on some occasion as we were not daring enough to handle some extreme track conditions (Pascoe and Wenlock crossing on the Frenchmans Gap Road, Gunshot and Nolan on the Old Tele Track to name a few) but we did well on some other fairly deep crossing and narrow broken road surfaces. Driving skills are improving. Armande’s nerves still have to settle so she can hold the camera or the steering wheel during scary bits!
No need for further mechanical repairs this time and still excited about pursuing our adventure.
Hey, I’ve got a few words I’d like to say regarding the state of the road. Bamaga Rd
Spot the differences !?

Absolutely exquisite photos you pair. Can so relate to all these photos ( having just been there!).
Loving seeing your adventures…please keep it coming. Stay safe😘😘
Fantastic! The red soil is so beautiful combined with the blue sky and clouds. What an adventure and then there is beautiful Europe awaiting you… lucky people. Xx
It is wonderful to see the beautiful places you are travelling too. The photos are spectacular! So happy for you two. Enjoy your travels, keep us up to date and miss you lots !! Hugs Luca & Scott
I do not envy you at all, these photos are beautiful and show a hard reality.
I like the photo of the road looking like your Swiss Sunday bread “tresse”. Who was first.
Coconuts, beach, wind, dust, mud, difficult roads, you are real adventurers. Mascotte doesn’t smile too enthusiastically but I’m sure she’ll get over it. She doesn’t realise having reached the very very top, what an achievement.
Hi Gab,
Not easy to drive on this “tresse” !! You need to get it right but you don’t see much from the driver’s seat. Lucky we are two: one driver and one conductor. Well, the latter uses his/her arms a lot as well!
You’re right about mascotte. She didn’t like at all the run over one of her peers :((
